Short Bio:

I'm a full professor (W3) at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU), head of chair for IT Security. I'm also director of studies and head of the examination board for an English-taught international master degree programme Cyber Security at BTU. Additionally, I'm a member of expert committee on IT and Innovation of chamber of commerce and industry (IHK), member of the advisory board (Beirat) of the center for scientific advanced training, and technology transfer mentor (Transferpate) at BTU. Before, I was a Research Scientist (permanent faculty) and deputy head of the SECAN-Lab within the Computer Science and Communications Research Unit (CSC/FSTC) and associated with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg. I hold Dr.-Ing. (Doctorate in Engineering) degree with distinction from the RWTH Aachen University, Germany. My doctoral thesis "Anonymous Communication in the Age of the Internet" was awarded the KuVS prize ([1], [2]) for the best doctoral dissertation 2010 from the German Computer Science Society (GI) and VDE Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE-ITG), the Science Award ("Bernd-Hentschel-Wissenschaftspreis") ([1], [2]) of the German Association for Data Protection and Data Security (GDD), as well as the "Borchers Medal" award of RWTH Aachen University. I also hold Master degree in Computer Science from the RWTH Aachen University (my master thesis was in the final round of the David Kopf prize competition for the best master/diploma thesis in Germany) and Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering (with a minor in Applied Mathematics) from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTUU "KPI").
