Web Technologies
Rules and rule markup languages will play an important role for the success of the Semantic Web. Rule expressions will be used in Web applications for defining derived terms on the basis of a taxonomy, for specifying validation constraints, for representing organizational policies and business rules, for specifying the behavior of a software agent, and for many other purposes.
- Starting from March 20, 2006 the Real Rules web log was launched. Read the latest news about rules from rule experts, rule developers, business rules consultants and friends of rules !
- The R2ML rule markup language was launched. The main goal of R2ML is to be an interchange format for rules between different rule systems and applications. Learn how to use it in rule development from the official page.

Uncertainty, Fuzziness and Data Mining
Plausibility measures are a general approach for representing uncertainty. The covered topics are discrete plausibility measures, where a plausibility measure just associates with an event its plausibility, an element is some partially ordered set or an interval of plausibilities.
The data mining is represented by the area of mining association rules.

Logic Programming and Knowledge Representation
Logic applies to all areas of artificial intelligence and computer science. Logic programming is fundamental to these areas. The covered topics are AI applications that use logic programming, natural language processing and knowledge representation.
Also, the formal description of an object-oriented knowledge model based on frame theory (FRAKS) is provided. The knowledge model represents all frames as objects and eliminates the object versus values dichotomy, by representing all entities as frames.
